Shoe Obsession of the Day: Studded sandals from Park Lane

I'm on the lookout for those perfect flat sandals for this summer. There's a lot of styles, colours and fabrics out there, you just have to decide what your heart (and feet) desires most.

The most popular ones might just be the rubber neon sandals, but I'm not really keen on them. Call me obsessed, call me old-fashioned, but I'm still in love with roman studded sandals, with lots of strips, lots of studs, lots of buckels and anything metallic. And as for the colour, my favourite ones are still, the brown ones. I find them extremely versatile - they go with pretty much everything, but, most of all, with tanned skin.

I've stumbled upon the perfect roman sandals on asos.com, in their outlet. I might change my mind tomorrow, but today, they're perfect! You know the feeling, right? :-)

Now tell me, what's you're favourite sandals style for this summer?

Sneak Peek: ASOS Spring 2011 Collection - The Shoes

The Spring 2011 collection lookbook of Asos, the world-wide adored British brand, has been released recently and we couldn't be happier! With an obvious retro vibe, the collection will definitely be a hit world-wide and I wouldn't be surprised to see them sold out immediately.

The shoe part of this collection is like candy to my eyes and soul and I am sure that many of you will feel the same. I have always loved chunky heels (that's why I am such a huge Miu Miu fan) and the 2011 Spring collection has plenty of variations on this type of retro heel. This is not only very comfortable (due to the stability the heel and the platform ensure), but also they are very feminine. The ankle straps and the bows will highlight femininity even more, while the animal print on this shoe here below will give a fierce touch to the whole shoe.

Colour blocks are also a big plus for the shoes featured in this collection. Used on either pumps or sandals, the colour block technique emphasizes the retro inspiration and the girly spirit in each of us. Also, they are very fun and will give any outfit the much needed attention call.

Cobalt blue, teal, green, red, nude, dusty pink are some of the star colour the shoes come in. They're a huge source of optimistic energy and will definitely make your outfits evolve around your shoes, and not the other way around.

The collection also consists of some very adorable ankle boots in nude suede which feature jewel encrusted lace bows. How cute is that? With a very strong lady-like victorian touch, these shoes will complement any outfit you have in mind, softening it a bit.

For those of you who are not that good with high heels, Asos has the solution: the daring red wedges and some dusty pink lace ups.  They're good to your feet, but they keep you faithful to the spirit of the entire collection.

All in all, the shoe collection Asos has prepared is very good: it manages to bring to lower prices in their own kind of way the trends we've been seeing on the designers' catwalk. Also, the collection brings a lot of fun and girly chicness to our wardrobes.

So, what do you think about the Spring 2011 Asos collection?  Do you like anything in particular?

The SALES are on!

The long awaited moment that had everyone dreaming and saving up since last season is here: the sales are on!

The first to start this magical season - dreamland for all women with regular incomes who crave for designer pieces - are always the online shops.

First up, Net-a-porter. You can shop their designer shoes selection here. There are some deals that you will be thankful for all your life, maybe your grandsons too, one day. For example, these McQueens with golden angel wings at €614.54 (used to be €877.92 ) or the Tory Burch lace up boots at €276.50 (used to be €395).

My Theresa is also having a sale. You can shop their designer shoe collection here. My pick from their rather scarce selection? The Miu Mius, of course, at 279,00 euro.

LuisaViaRoma is also one of the most important online designer stores to take on the sales trend. Their shoe selection is very complete and includes a lot of important names. You can see and shop it here. I would choose the Briant Atwood sky print flat boots with 70% off or the Dolce and Gabbana wellington leopard print boots with 30% off.

Unique-way, the online store selling products from several other online stores, which has recently started an agressive advertising campaign through bloggers like Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad, are having a sale too. You can see and shop the shoe selection here. My pick would be the Charlotte Olympia mint green snakeskin pumps at about 200 euro.

My favourite online shop with a HUGE selection of discounted shoes? It has got to be Asos.com. It's hard to pick a favourite, but I would definitely go for the Sam Edelman wegdes at €149.99 and the Asos Alesha booties at €44.87.

Of course you have to hurry if you still want to find your size for all those dream shoes at such accessible prices. Good luck and happy shopping!

I will be updating this post as soon as I find new deals.

Open Letter to Santa - a „short” list of shoe cravings

Dear Santa,

This year I've been a really good girl and I deserve to be rewarded in some way, don't you think? I made a really tiny list of what I dream of at this moment. It's all shoes, of course. You could bring them all, but I won't mind if you send me at least a couple of them. And just so you know, most of the online shops have free delivery and discounts for Christmas, so hurry up!

Finsk update

I hope you all remember my post on the wonderful Finsk shoes. I have recently found that Solestruck is selling some designs that aren't available anywhere else - the joy!

I'm so disappointed however that the designers haven't created their own online store or that they haven't allowed the ones they are collaborating with to sell a wide range of designs, not just the most "tamed" ones. I really hope that they are coming up with a battle plan as we speak and that soon everyone would be able to buy online any wicked design created by this label. Because their fame hasn't come out of the regular-ish shoes that you can buy at this point on Solestruck, Asos or Amelie Boutique. I think that everyone would like to buy the wonderful architectural wedges in pony hair or leather (as worn by Andy, Chiara and Bryan Boy) and this would be a great marketing move on their side too.

Until that moment comes, lets enjoy the new designs you can buy now on Solestruck:

boot camp

Hello lovers,

I hope you enjoyed summer so far and I really hope you made it ok through the heats our little planet has been treating us to.

As for the lovely shoes, there are pleanty of things to catch up on, since we have to hurry stocking up for autumn. So, lets begin!

You should have noticed by now that one of this season's trends is chunky, manly, army inspired shoes. All major designers and brands have contributed to this trend, creating some very massive and heavy shoes. However, it is amazing how suited they are even on the gentle feet and ankle of a woman/girl - nothing can compare to the beautiful contrast of a heavy shoe against the delicacy of a woman.
These shoes also represent a very strong statement a girl can make through fashion. That is why one shy girl can never wear them.
But they are the perfect choice if you feel bored of the chic and simple shoes, of the pastels, nudes and flowers summer's been treating us to. Just slip inside some of the next season's heavy shoes and feel empowered.
As usual, I have chosen my favourite ones, but feel free to send me others, should you have your own favourites.

meshing around

Hi there, shoe lovers,

Don't know if you've noticed but the fashion industry, especially the shoe branch, is trying to create pieces which seem simple and clean, leaving aside the opulent items. But do not be tricked! You will be amazed by the value and beauty of these beautiful things. Simple does not mean cheap or kitsch; sometimes, it is the best way to go (and of course, you are well aware of the designers who have made a religion out of clean, simple pieces - such as Calvin Klein, Jill Sander ecc.).

When it comes to shoes, I definitely think that less is more! Think about a simple but chic peep-toe shoe, prefferably in a nude shade - what more could you ask for?

Some (shoe) designers have thought of bringing fashion closer to the buyer and what better way to do this than using simple, usual fabrics? Mesh is definitely the preffered fabric designers have begun to use to make incredibly beutiful shoes, yet so very down-to-earth and accessible.

I have tired to make a selection of the shoes which follow this trend. However, it has become so used, that I cannot even pretend to cover it all:

Stella McCartney Mesh Open-Toe Ankle Boots
(here, on net-a-porter)
Jil Sander Leather Mesh Brogues

Brian Atwood Gaga studded mesh ankle boots

(here, on Asos)
F-Troupe Mesh Ruffle Flat Sandal

Azzedine Alaia Suede Mesh Peep-Toe Boots

Hope you enjoy them!

And let me wish you all the good luck finding the sales pieces you want! :-)
