Converse gets pimped up by Missoni's craftsmanship

American footwear and Italian tradition in fashion have never looked so good together. For the sixth season in a row, Converse and Missoni have teamed up yet again to create a special collection called Converse x Missoni Archive Project.

The project consists of limited edition sneakers - only 200 pairs - which mix Missoni's tradition in fashion and Converse's iconic footwear. Specifically, the team of designers has picked 20 different patterns from Missoni's archive, which have been discontinued for a long time, and used them to spice up Converse's Pro Leather and Auckland Racer styles.

My favourite part is that they're unisex and they have a funky vibe to them, in such an urban way.

The collection will be available only at French department store Colette starting this friday, just in time to celebrate Paris Fashion Week.

If you want to be one of the 200 people worldwide who own a pair of these funky sneakers and if you're in Paris, then you'll have to pay around 400 euros for a pair.

Discount alert: Shoe Madness at New Look

British retailer New Look is seriously tempting us into buying as many shoes as we'd like, because they know we all love shoes and we all love discounts.

The team has come up with a great discount campaign, called Shoe Madness, on their new shoe collection and it's pretty simple, too: until the end of the September grab some friends, pick your favourite shoes and you'll get discounts according to the size of your group. That means that you'll get 20% off if you're going with your best friend, 30% off, if you're three shoe maniacs, 40% off if you manage to get your work buddy to play along and even 50% off if you manage to bring your mom too. The best thing is that the discount applies to each and every one of you, so you all win, there's no fighting over who pays what. Win-win situation, right?

Here's a selection of what to expect shoe-wise inside New Look's stores, and their full prices, before the discounts:

Shoe Scouting: Red by Wolves and the perfect unisex shoes

One of the things that get me most excited and thrilled and jumping around the house (at least in my mind) is discovering shoe brands or designers all over the world with great concepts and fashion-DNAs. Shoe scouting is kind of a weird source for pleasure, come to think about it, but let's not analyze this. One of my latest finds is Red by Wolves, a London-based shoe brand where limited edition shoes are handmade.

Red by Wolves is a family owned business started back in 2007 as a boutique which custom made shoes on orders only. Within a few years, however, as it happens to great ideas, the word got around, people wanted more of their designs, and they decided to expand the brand.

Nowadays, the brand consists of Lena, the designer, and Gerard, the guy who keeps the business running. Lena graduated the prestigious Istituto Marangoni and trained inside famous designers' shoe departments, like Alexander McQueen or Jonathan Kelsey.

Their concept evolves around tradition, custom made designs (turned into limited editions now) and handcrafted everything - from soles, carved by hand, to stitching, leather preparation and actually putting the shoe together.

Their designs have a strong unisex vibe to them. It's like gender and boundaries were abolished and we were all one happy family, borrowing from eachother what we have best.

The core of the collection is built around ground-level shoes: brogues, chelsea boots, loafers, sneakers and sandals. Then there are the wedges and the chunky heeled boots for those moments when we love to strut around above the ground.

There's a lot of black, but also earth tones and those fun animal prints (my favourite print is the "dalmatian" one on the sneakers). The designs are spiced up with a lot of buckles and laces, which kind of remind me of those Victorian boots ladies used to wear back then.

All in all, a great brand I'll keep my eyes on, especially for their great concept and strong beliefs. Wouldn't you say so too?

Pixie Shoes' Dramatized collection is casting!

The lovely girls over at Pixie Shoes, one of my favourite Romanian shoe brands, have launched their newest collection for fall-winter 2013: Dramatized.

The girls have always been keen on finding new shapes and colours for their shoes, reinventing their fashion-DNA from season to season. But what I like best about their brand is that they always add to their designs a meaninful story, connecting their customer to what inspires them.

This time, Dramatized, the new collection, is all about iconic cinematography. Specifically, the shoes have been inspired by Vertigo, Alfred Hitchcock's out-of-this-world famous movie. “Only one is a wanderer; two together are always going somewhere” is the quote that started it all. From there, the two designers have imagined a shoe collection which speaks of mistery, sensuality and elegance, inviting you to join their cast. Each shoe has a different name and personality, inspired by a different iconic movie. Pretty intriguing, right?

The collection has a bit of everything for everyone: flats, chunky heels, T-bars, platforms, neon accents, wedges, neutrals (black and greys), but also lots of colourful accents, you name it.

So, if you're ready, click away and join the cast!

Who put a moustache on Kate Moss? Eleven Paris!

Quick post to share with you one of my newest finds shoe-wise: it's Kate Moss with a moustache printed onto lovely lace-up shoes.
The brand is called Eleven Paris (they do great womenswear and menswear, too, not just shoes, check them out) and they ship to Europe (including Romania) for 10 euros. There's some flip flops too, featuring Moss and Mr. Doherty himself. The shoes cost 69 or 79 euros, while for the flip flops you're gonna pay just 29 euros.

Non Kate Moss shoes, even more appealing:
