Monday Shoe Obsession: Crystals and Studs

It's the first working day for 2011. Probably most of you wonderful friends are back at the office. I can only imagine you as enthusiastic about this Monday as myself. Therefore, I didn't prepare any novel-length article because I don't want to stress you out even more than this day is already.

What I have for you instead is two (I couldn't decide on only one) wicked pair of shoes.

First up, the Yolanda Spikes 120 studded leather pumps courtesy of Louboutin. I love the colour, but I would have prefered the spikes in silver instead of gold. All in all, it seems the right shoe to start the year with, right? The mix of colours is very optimistic and they would bring a springy vibe to any outfit.

Next, it's the Italian shoe master Giuseppe Zanotti with the Crystal-embellished suede sandals.

They have something very princessy about them (would it be all the shiny crystals that they are covered in?). I also love the retro cut and shape, which makes them very classy, feminine with a modern touch, all at the same time. Perfect, right?

Which one do you like best?

Stay tuned because soon the long-awaited interview will be up for your personal pleasure and leisure. Some more documented and extended articles will follow, also. I just have to organize and schedule all of them. With a little bit of luck, all should be as planned soon!

Shoe dilemma of the day: Louboutin Pigalle in denim

In between the best of 2010 tops that are circulating on most of the websites, the resolution lists, the "what I've learned" gratitude thoughts and the New Year's Eve plans - all of which are very useful and fulfilling, of course - I think we should also do some mind stretching by focusing on some more "easy" things, like shoes, for example.

Today I have for you a more casual version of the Louboutin Pigalle studded pumps. They're made of denim, a rather over-rated fabric and much too often used, if you ask me.

I remember that, as a young student, I was told in class the story of denim: how it was created for the use of cowboys as they needed a fabric which was strong enough and which could be dragged into mud and still keep those men protected from the cows and the horrors of nature. I guess I was brainwashed at that tender age because I have never been a fan of denim. Everytime I think of denim I instantly think of muddy cowboys. I don't really understand why some people wear jeans in summer time, for example. Or why some designers decided that this was the right fabric to be used for bags or hats or whatever. It's a personal choice, after all, and I can respect that.

Now, retournons a  nos mouttons, our Louboutins. Usually, I don't like denim shoes. At all! The studded Pigalle pumps have been a hit. I'm absolutely mad about them. They've got attitude, due to the studds, but they are also oh so feminine because of the deep cut, the stiletto heel and the pointy toe. A perfect combination!  They have been taken to red carpets worldwide, every celebrity owns them and every regular gal like myself is dreaming of them. But Pigalle in denim? I'm not convinced, I don't know if I even like them, let alone if I would wear them. My childhood memories are somehow pushing back the love for Louboutins, in any shape or fabric.

So I need your help. What do you think? Do you like them in denim? Good, bad or meah?

P.S. Happy last minute shopping for the party outfits, good luck with your lists of any kind and have some great last 3 days of the year! :-)

The SALES are on!

The long awaited moment that had everyone dreaming and saving up since last season is here: the sales are on!

The first to start this magical season - dreamland for all women with regular incomes who crave for designer pieces - are always the online shops.

First up, Net-a-porter. You can shop their designer shoes selection here. There are some deals that you will be thankful for all your life, maybe your grandsons too, one day. For example, these McQueens with golden angel wings at €614.54 (used to be €877.92 ) or the Tory Burch lace up boots at €276.50 (used to be €395).

My Theresa is also having a sale. You can shop their designer shoe collection here. My pick from their rather scarce selection? The Miu Mius, of course, at 279,00 euro.

LuisaViaRoma is also one of the most important online designer stores to take on the sales trend. Their shoe selection is very complete and includes a lot of important names. You can see and shop it here. I would choose the Briant Atwood sky print flat boots with 70% off or the Dolce and Gabbana wellington leopard print boots with 30% off.

Unique-way, the online store selling products from several other online stores, which has recently started an agressive advertising campaign through bloggers like Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad, are having a sale too. You can see and shop the shoe selection here. My pick would be the Charlotte Olympia mint green snakeskin pumps at about 200 euro.

My favourite online shop with a HUGE selection of discounted shoes? It has got to be Asos.com. It's hard to pick a favourite, but I would definitely go for the Sam Edelman wegdes at €149.99 and the Asos Alesha booties at €44.87.

Of course you have to hurry if you still want to find your size for all those dream shoes at such accessible prices. Good luck and happy shopping!

I will be updating this post as soon as I find new deals.

Burberry Studded Platform Sandals - obsession of the day

Since today is Monday (so, by definition, this is a tough day) and in most countries and/or continents the weather is gloomy, here's a shoe to make you feel strong and confident: the Burberry patent leather studded platform sandals.

I would wear them with knitted socks, of course.
Like them?

Current obsession: Eye Candy from Miu Miu

I've been obsessed for over a week now with these pastel dusky pink Miu Miu platform sandals. They're available for purchase on net-a-porter, here. With a high platform, straps, back zip and, above all, pastel dusky pink suede they're just the right shoe for romantic girls, worn with pastel tights, dot or heart print tights or socks. Amazing! What do you think?

Art Shoes

People are still mourning Alexander McQueen and people all over the world are still realizing what a great designer the fashion industry has lost.

Some people may be skeptical (I've heard many) and think that this post-mortem faim has reached these hights only because of this unfortunate event. It's in situations like these that the last creations of this amazing designer come to support and prove his huge value.

I was absolutetly speechless when I first saw these amazing boots. They are amazing pieces of art, with an antique air given by the engraved heel and sole - an amazing work which seems to be the one of a craftman from long gone times when people valued the artistic traditions.

I can only admire the amazing work and hope that the world will give us again an amazing designer with such a creativity and artistic value.

R.I.P. Mr. McQueen.
