Spring/Summer '12 collection from Skin by FINSK

FINSK, the finnish shoe brand that I've been telling you about for a long time, has good news for all of you who love their shoes, just like me. 
During Premiere Classe, a Accessory Designer Trade Show held in Paris during the 1st and 5th of March, they will officially launch their Spring/Summer 2012 collection from their newest line called Skin by FINSK.
The secondary line launched by designer Julia Lundsten and her team features pumps, sandals and clogs which keep true to the conceptualist design that FINSK has been known for. 
The difference is that they come in lower prices and a slightly more wearable style. This will appeal even to those ladies who liked FINSK until now, but didn't see themselves wearing such structural shoes.
Skin by FINSK offers sandals in wooden platforms, strappy detailing or cut out wooden soles. Some of the sandals, like the ankle strap platform sandals, for example, feature a raw finishing, with no stitches.
You can also shop with them for perfect pumps with a wooden heel and detailing that makes the difference. The line also features some clogs, but you know I've never been a fan.
The shoes are available in tan, grey, washed out forest green or black, some of them featuring colourful accents, just to bring out fun and joy.
All shoes are made of leather, keeping true to the brand's dedication to using quality luxury materials.
What I like best about this line is that they're perfectly wearable, anytime, anywhere, but they still have that special something, that concept that makes them unique.
Prices range from 195 to 287 British pounds and, yes, they ship to Romania too. Among the online stockists that will be selling Skin by FINSK there's the italian online mall called yoox.com. So keep an eye on them in case you're looking for something a bit more familiar to shop from.

FINSK S/S 11 Collection and the Pop-Up Web Shop

Remember Finsk, one of the coolest shoes out there, responsible for all the frenzy that took over bloggers all over the world? We've feasted our eyes previously and now it's time to catch up on them.

The Summer/Spring '11 collection of the Finnish brand features shoes with those traits that made everybody fall in love with them to begin with, which have now become their trademark: wooden sole with geometric shapes, daring cuts and strong color accents.

However, don't expect to see the same shoes you've already seen before. The new collection brings some new styles and colours. 

First of all, there's the take on the classic pump. But they aren't you're ordinary pumps: in mint green or nude, the Finsk pumps feature a wooden chunky heel, in dark brown or with a yellow accent. The mild platform gives stability and comfort to the shoes, making them alltogether appropriate even for office hours.

 

Next up (and my personal favourite), there's the summer version of the wedge that made Finsk so famous. With bondage strips of two-toned leather, wooden sole and the signature spiky sculpted heel, this season's wedges will pop up in any scenary thanks to the original design and the splash of colour.

Another type of sandals featured in this season's collection, the sandals with crossed straps and low heel are perfect for those of you who want to keep things on a lower profile. The side detailing inspired by the boho-chic / 70s trend make them so very delicate and romantic. The cone heel strapped in layers of leather makes these sandals perfect for everyday wear, with a low (or even non-existant) pain level, even if you'll be running errands all day long.

And finally, the cut-out wedges with a gentler style. If I would have seen these somewhere over the internet, I wouldn't have recognized them as Finsk wedges. They seem to have few in common with the style that has blown away everybody's minds. However, they are versatile, due to the shades they come in - nude and black, and extremly wearable, due to the low wedge, with no architectural detailing whatsoever.

Open Letter to Santa - a „short” list of shoe cravings

Dear Santa,

This year I've been a really good girl and I deserve to be rewarded in some way, don't you think? I made a really tiny list of what I dream of at this moment. It's all shoes, of course. Finsk update

I hope you all remember my post on the wonderful Finsk shoes. I have recently found that Solestruck is selling some designs that aren't available anywhere else - the joy!

I'm so disappointed however that the designers haven't created their own online store or that they haven't allowed the ones they are collaborating with to sell a wide range of designs, not just the most "tamed" ones. I really hope that they are coming up with a battle plan as we speak and that soon everyone would be able to buy online any wicked design created by this label. Because their fame hasn't come out of the regular-ish shoes that you can buy at this point on Solestruck, Asos or Amelie Boutique. I think that everyone would like to buy the wonderful architectural wedges in pony hair or leather (as worn by Andy, Chiara and Bryan Boy) and this would be a great marketing move on their side too.

Shoes to die for: Finsk

I thought of writing a post about the craziest, funniest and coolest shoes out there. It's about the finnish brand FINSK and, like everything that comes from the northern countries, they are arty and one of a kind. Finsk shoes are on everyones lips right now, but on few people's feet.

My Facebook friends have already had a preview, but I thought of writing a complete post about this brand.
You can find their site here. The brand is so exclusivist that they only sell in selected boutiques in few cities like Paris, London, New York ecc. Asos has some available on their site, here, but they have selected only the most "normal" designs, unfortunately (there were more pieces available, but they're sold out). You can also find them in another online shop, called Amelie boutique, see their selection here.

I think great things are still to come from this designer and this brand. We just have to wait and see.
